As your engine operates, it relies on oil to lubricate its moving components and dissipate excess heat from the engine block. This oil endures extreme conditions, including high temperatures, splashing, turbulence, and abrupt thermal changes (the oil shifts from high operating temperatures during engine operation to cooling down when the engine is turned off). Additionally, in today’s fast-paced world, we often don’t allow a cold engine to warm up before driving off.

Due to these demanding conditions and cycles, chemical transformations occur, causing the oil to deteriorate and even become acidic. It also loses its viscosity, a critical factor for effective lubrication among the engine’s moving parts. Reduced viscosity results in increased wear on the engine’s components. Changing the oil restores the recommended viscosity for your engine and the prevailing climate conditions. For instance, oils with designations like 5W30, 10W30, 20W40, and so on. Using an oil recommended for cold climates in a warm climate could potentially harm the engine.

Furthermore, oil serves to remove particulate matter from the engine. If left in the engine for an extended period, it will eventually accumulate grime and burnt particles, forming a sludgy residue.

• Lubricate the chassis (when applicable).
• Top off all other fluids.
• Adjust tire pressures.
• Perform our University Auto Repair 100-Point Inspection.
• Properly dispose of your used oil, preserving the environment.

FULL SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE SERVICE

• Replace the engine oil and filter.
• Add up to 5 quarts of full synthetic oil with the appropriate viscosity recommended for your engine.
